Full Length WABC Airchecks

The huge majority of airchecks on this web site are "telescoped". That means that the music, the commercials and the news have been edited out so that all that you hear are the things that were unique to Musicradio WABC. Most of the WABC sound files that have been distributed throughout the radio world over the years have been preserved in this way.

However, due to the ever increasing popularity of this web site, we have come across airchecks that are complete (or almost complete) which include everything just as it happened over the air. These can be very interesting to listen to because you get more of a sense of what WABC sounded like to its huge audience just as they were listening to it. While you can get a much faster impression of the station by listening to the telescoped airchecks, if you really want to experience it as it was, un-telescoped airchecks are the best way.

Because these are relatively rare, we're always looking for anyone who might have a recording of WABC in the attic (or elsewhere) to contribute. If you happened to have recorded WABC back in the Musicradio days, let us know! We'd love to showcase your full length aircheck!
