The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

In addition to recognizing legendary Rock Music stars over the past forty years, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio also recognizes radio disc jockeys. This legacy is important because without radio, Rock and Roll music would never have achieved its phenomenal popularity.

The Rock Hall's display is a relatively small semicircular corridor with computer terminals. Visitors to the Hall can put on headphones and search for disc jockeys by city and decade. A photo, biography and aircheck are then presented for the particular disc jockey.

Rock artists are voted into the Hall. Disc jockeys are picked by the staff. As you would expect, WABC is well represented. The station's vast reach in the sixties and seventies had an enormous effect on popularizing rock music.
