Musicradio WABC Memories from Jonathan Wolfert

These images were donated by Jonathan Wolfert, President of JAM Creative Productions. In addition to producing radio jingles for radio stations all over the country, Jon is a big Musicradio WABC fan. These items are from his personal collection and Jon also provides the captions.

Thanks Jon!

A very early WABC "Channel 77 Swingin' Sound Survey" from September 14, 1961. The #1 song was "Michael" by The Highwaymen. There were 70 singles on the list, 7 "Big LPs", 7 "Sure Shot LPs", and 7 "Soarin' Singles". Needless to say, they only played a small fraction of what was on the list.

"The Big M" Cousin Bruce Morrow fan club!

Before moving to overnights, where most people remember him, Charlie Greer was on in the afternoon and offered membership in his Happy Huggy Bear Club.

This is one of my favorite shots of Chuck Leonard giving a cue to his engineer (1968).
