What an actual in studio WABC format sheet looked like

So, you want to know what the DJ's were looking at when they were running the format at Musicradio WABC? This is an actual sheet that the DJ's at WABC were using to pick the music for their shows in August of 1978. If you had been lucky enough to be a DJ at WABC that week, this is what would have been your "bible" as to what music to play when.

The colors refer to colored "dots" that adhered to the back of the carts that the songs were recorded on. As you can see there were several different categories as indicated by the various colors. The actual ranking of the songs is listed at the top.
